Hi everyone

I am not only new to single holidays but also to forums so bear with me.

My name is Al, I live on the Isle of Man and am 49 years old.

I have not really done much travelling abroad, I usually keep it to England but now feel that I would like to see other places. I look forward to meeting new friends on here and also hopefully getting some help and advice on where and how to travel as a single traveller. I am also liking the idea of being part of a community of likeminded people.

thanks

Just pick the holiday you fancy and go for it, I very much doubt you'll be dissapointed I've done 4 JY trips and they have all been good and very well organised.

The forum is here for us to help each other so if you have any questions, just ask.

Welcome to you. I am old hat at this travelling alone lark. I have my 8th JY tour booked for next year. See I am keen. Been using the company for 5 years now - I am 52. I do in fact have a husband (30 YEARS!!!) but he likes lazing on a lounger so leaves the touring side of life to me. If there are any questions I might be able to help with just ask away.

I'm totally new to travelling alone too. Just joined this afternoon, looking at booking something in September. Just reading all the messages and must say they are very encouraging. Although I find it easy to talk to strangers, still feel nervous of doing the holiday alone thing! But as all my friends have partners etc to go with, if I don't do it I will never go on holiday again. I really love seeing new places, so here goes, hope to meet some good friends along the way too. Good Luck. Pat

Hi Al,

Wow - the Isle of Man. I have visited twice as have friends who grew up in Douglas. Love the island and especially our trips to Calf Island to see the seals.

I have travelled with Just You three times now and am set to go to South Africa shortly, making it my fourth trip. I too am 49yrs, shortly approaching 50. I would say just go for it.

The first trip I did was driven by a life-long desire to see the Grand canyon, which helped me get over my fear of going with Just You and travelling alone! I was terrifed. I recall my hands shaking so much in the departure lounge I couldn't pour the tea! But hey it lasted maybe a few hours til I got chatting with others and found we were all in the same boat. I had the holiday of a life time and can say the same of trips since. Take the plunge and know that others will be nervous too but it doesn't last long

Let us know when you book!

Kind regards Debbie

Hi Al

We were all new to this forum at one point, and also new to single travelling lark. I think it's good to travel further afield than our native lands. I can suggest The Austrian Lakes as a good place to start. It isn't very far from home, with stunning views and scenery. However I expect it really all depends on what time you have and your budget range I guess. I have done walking, beach, sightseeing and Christmas trips, with Just You and all have been great, with great folk. On all the trips I have been on, everyone gets along well,. Of course you will have the help of one of the Just You Tour managers, who all excel in their field and are willing to help and assist more or less 24 hours a day if required.

My suggestion though is to sift through the brochure or check online. Pick something and book it.

If I can help you any further please feel free to ask.

Have a good trip

Andy
