I am booked on 12 September trip and wonder if anyone is staying at hotel the night before. Can anyone give any tips on best hotel to book and getting to the airport. I am a bit unsure .- never done this on my own before I will be getting National coach into the bus station. Many thanks

Hi Pam,

I am also going on the same trip as you and booked my overnight stay at Heathrow through Just You.

I am staying at the Crowne Plaza.

I have not stayed at Heathrow before but just thought it would save me any worries travelling to the airport on the morning of our flight.

Look forward to meeting you.

Best wishes.

Pam and Debs,

I notice you are both staying at The Crowne Plaza, I'm at the Premier Inn not far from your overnight hotel.

I was going to change hotel to yours, burt it's nearly double the cost of The Premier Inn.

Not long now, really looking forward to it and I've pre-booked The Palm Springs excursion around the Living Desert.

You've all picked a fantastic holiday, did it last year.

If your hotels are on the local bus routes I suggest you use them rather than pay £4+ each way for the heathrow hoppas.

The service buses are free with in a zone around heathrow and drop you off same place as the hoppas.

you can check it out on this map (free zone is shaded area) :-

Hi Pam, Just got back from doing the june golden west. I also stayed in london and found the hoppa bus very easy as it stopped right outside most of the hotels. This was my first trip by myself. But it was great. OK the fligt was long but everyone was so great and easy to get along with (40 people). Take lots of suncream we had it up to 115 but then rain in sanfran. Lots of space on the camera. Lots of money on the mobile. I spent about £60. But best of all enjoy. Yours Shelly 1
