Hi Loopylou
I have just returned from Bulgaria last Friday and happy to give you some feedback. Firstly the Hotel. The Hotel is fantastic and the facilities are extremely good too. The rooms are massive all with Balconies. If you are at the rear of the hotel, You will have a view looking over the Black Sea which is great. However the view from the front of the hotel is not as pleasant. Although it is not awful. It does look over a baron piece of land.. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful and food is palletable and plenty of it. The bathrooms have both a shower and bath with hair dryers.(One person did moan about there being No shower caps lol Not me )
I was there when it was just out of season and the weather was better in Scotland than In Bulgaria while I was there. However I am sure it will be better for your trip. There is a wide range of activities at the hotel. With Salsa learning, Shooting and many other activities to try and learn. At the rear of the Hotel grounds you will be on a sandy beach. And if you turn right you can walk for miles along a sandy beach. The Hotel entertainment was wide and varied. However the Bulgarian evening and the Balkan dance evening were both free of charge and worth experiencing. The Hotel has an out door pool, And an indoor pool, sauna, gym, and many massage treatment rooms. Along with a wide range of shops and a hair dressers.
The excursions however I feel were a little let down. However i would bare in mind, That this country is just recovering from being in the clutches of Russia and are just finding there feet and freedom again. And are intersting. There is s small town Called Nessabar which is one of your included excursions. However you can walk to it from your hotel in about 20 minutes. If you come out of the front of the hotel and turn right. Also you can get a taxi for about 15 leva. However if you get a taxi, I would suggest filling it with 4 persons, And ask the drivers how much it will be before getting in. The hotel has 9 specific drivers with the hotel name on their cabs. However taxis from Nessabar dont. And they may well rip you off. So please ask. At very most it should not be anymore than 20 leva. You can also catch a bus for about 2 leva. You can not walk back to the hotel from Nessabar via the beach. You can get to within about 400yards. Then you will have to cut inland and over some dunes and through some trees. But the beach from Nessabar to hotel is lovely and sandy with many cafes etc on the beach. I was there just out of season and many places were still closed.
The flight via Bulgarian airlines was fine. However the in flight snack was about average. Overall it is a lovely place and I am sure you will have a great time.
Anything else you need to know, please contact me.
Oh be sure to take your own beach towel and continental plug. The towels in the rooms are not suitable for the beach.
Enjoy your trip
Regards and have a great trip. Andy
