Anyone else going on this tour, thinking about what to pack and do we have to book the trip to Alcatraz before we leave the UK? Any comments welcome.

hi penny

i'm going on this trip as well, been told to pack for warm weather but take a fleece or jacket to wear as can been cool in san francisco especially if your going to Alcatraz. i'm planning to visit Alcatraz, had a look on website and it says to allow about 4 hours for trip, thinking the morning one would be best, definitely best to book in advance.

hi chris

seems to be so many highlights on this trip, looking forward to it. i need to put the rat pack show, etc. Read on another thread if your going to alcatraz there's no point doing the san francisco bay cruise, so hopefully get good view of the bridge whilst crossing to alcatraz

i'm from scotland

Did this trip in May. You will need a jacket in San Fran as it can be chilly in the morning and on the boat. Gets warmer as you go south. We had rain in LA! Quite hot in Las Vegas.

I feel like you I want to do to Alcatraz but I do not want to go on my own, let me know when you are booking for either morning or afternoon and the date and I will book the same time, if that is alright with you.

Not booked it yet Penny, was like you, waiting to see if anyone else was like you, there seems to be a website for alcatraz , my neighbour who's a tour guide has advised to book morning as it means your not waiting about all day to go and as Donna says i think it will be day 2 of our trip. info below from another thread, that website says they are official tour site.

dougie

I went to Alcatraz last year so wont be going this time. It was a great experience! It's advisable to pre-book your tickets. (http://www.alcatrazcruises.com) The morning sightseeing tour finished around 12-12.30pm if I remember correctly? Hope this info helps anyone who is interested in going?

Excited and nervous but looking forward to meeting everyone in San Francisco.

Hi All

I have looked at the Alcatraz web web and there are spaces available for trips to Alcatraz on 17th May the Tuesday. I have been looking at booking for the afternoon around 1.45pm this would allow for the planned trips in the morning and also allow time for the get together on the Tuesday evening. I have not booked yet but wondered if anybody else had booked yet and if so what time so we could all go together if possible. Any advise would be welcome. Cost of the tickets are $26.00.

Hi All

I have looked at the Alcatraz Cruise web site and there are spaces available on Tuesday 17th May for a cost of $26.00. I am looking at booking in the afternoon for that day. This would allow time for the trip in the morning and then time for the get together planned for the Tuesday evening. The time I was looking at was 1.45pm I have not booked yet but asking if anybody else is interested in coming with me at this time. Any reply would be welcome but we need to book quickly.
