Hi Darren, im just wondering what the weather will be like in March, and what clothing to take.

First trip abroad with Just You snd very nervous about it, but always planned to go Las Vegas for my 50th Birthday. If you have any ideas on weather and how much clothing to take id be pleased to hear.

Hi everyone,

I am back from Thailand with just you and had a brilliant time. I am now looking forward to March and am not nervous at all as I know how well we will be looked after.

My Brother is also booked on this tour as we are both widowed and it is great that he will have some male company.

We have booked to extend for two extra nights in Vegas.

Is anyone thinking of staying overnight in a hotel prior to flying as if so we could perhaps book the same hotel and perhaps have a drink or three.

Hi Penny,

Went 8th March last year and it was raining the day we arrived in San Francisco. After then there was no rain at all the entire trip.

San Francisco can be quite cool. So I`d recomend a fleece or a hoodie ( the mornings are the coolest )

After that the holiday got progressivly warmer the further south in California we went.

Las Vegas was very warm and sunny.

I`d take clothes you can wear in layers so then you can take off accordingly.

Took pairs of shorts with me but didnt wear them too often.

Las Vegas is superb and is one of the main reasons I want to go again. San Francisco is truly wonderful too!!!

Hope I was of some help? Look forward to meeting you.

Darren

Hi Penny and Tracy, I have just had to rebook this holiday as the one I was going on in January has been cancelled. Its my first time with JY. I live in Preston Lancashire so am traveling down on the Sunday and staying at Heathrow. I think there were only 2 of us booked onto the Jan 17th trip so I think that is why they have cancelled, hopefully this date will be ok.hope to hear from you soon.Mary1

Hi Mary, I've just booked this trip for 27/6/11 haven't decided whether to do connecting flight the same morning (could go bad!) or stay over the night before. Could I ask where you are staying...do they have a Travelodge or similar at the airport?? Many thanks...Caroline

Hi Caroline

I am booked at the renaissance, not because it is the best hotel but they gave us a great deal on the parking.

Best wishes

Hi to everyone going on this fantastic trip. I went on it last month and throughly enjoyed it. Have to warn you though that it is very very hectic, most mornings up and out very very early!! Loved San Francisco and would recommend that you book to go over to Alcatraz, for me this was one of the highlights. You can book them now through their website which is www.alcatrazcruises.com. It was very hot when we were there but don't know what the temperatures will be like in March.Another must is the Rat Pack show in Vegas, amazing. You can have your photo taken afterwards with them, also a must is the Grand Canyon trip which is booked through the Tour Manager, but again a very early start - 4.30am, but it is well and truly worth it. Also did the aerial tramway but wasn't too keen on this, but I think it depends on whether you can cope with a revolving cable car at over 8,000 feet!! There were so many highlights of this trip and I know that you will all have a fantastic time, especially in Vegas, all the hotels are amazing and you must go down to Fremont Street at night. Well have a great time and perhaps when you get back you can let me know how you got on.

Maureen

thanks for all the excellent info maureen, i'm going in may, just can't wait. can you tell me if you have time to visit alcatraz and do the bay cruise

cheers

Hi Caroline, I've just booked this trip for the 27th as well 🙂.

There is a Premier Inn at Heathrow. I've stayed a couple of years ago in the one on the A4 (Bath Road) by the airport bowl and was very impressed by it. I think there is a shuttle to the terminals but I'm not sure, I know the other major hotels do but they charge for it!! I work at the airport so no hotel for me this time 😃 Just long term car parking.

Hope to meet up with fellow travellers in the lounge? Ian
