Yesterday was National I Love My Feet Day – and with this in mind we are thinking about all of the walking holidays that Just You offers, from Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way to Northern Cyprus. So, for today's Friday Feeling, we'd like to know  - What are some of the things that you love about going out for a walk of exploration, where are your favourite places to head off to with your walking boots on and your eyes wide open.

Flavours of Tuscany-lots of walking to Siena, Florence , Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano as they are mostly hill top towns and the coach is unable to take you there.

American Heart and Soul- lots to see and plenty of time off so I walked miles on my own and with Keith in Memphis and New Orleans.

I have only done one walking tour and that is the Dales up in Yorkshire. 8 miles does not seem far until you find out that it includes great big hills :rolleyes: Shame that the weekend we went to Oakworth was the weekend that they were putting in new rails on the level crossing. They had a steam crane doing the heavy lifting so I was in heaven 🙂

Although I enjoy going for a walk I am not a serious rambler/ walker and wouldn't contemplate most walking holidays because I would be at least two miles behind everyone else.

Exception is "Walking in Nepal". I love Nepal but even so I would only do the easiest of the walks. I went on a TS Nepal trip in 2010 and my friend and I decided to go on an included walk then but at the half way stage where there was a road we jumped back in the coach. It was just before I had two full knee replacements so had been in agony but I loved the stunning scenery and engaging with the local children who lived in the small houses dotted around the mountain. I joked about trekking in Nepal. Then on the last night one of my fellow travellers called Nigel presented me with a scroll which was a certificate he had made for me, saying that I had trekked in the foothills of the Himalayas March 8th 2010 signed Sherpa Nigel. The certificate was decorated by drawings of mountains and Yaks. Nigel, his wife and the local guide had helped me down some very rocky hills.

I love walking along the huge stretch of almost deserted beach at Wells-next-the Sea and Holkham in North Norfolk, the smell of the sea, beachcombing, the feeling of freedom.

I love walking along the cliffs of the north Cornwall coast, watching the waves pound against the rocks, listening to the gulls.

The lake lake district is another beautiful place to go, it is full of amazing walks and fabulous villages to explore and beautiful lakes - with lots of pubs and tea-shops along the way!! The flowers, wildlife and scenery make this a truly special place.

Closer to home I like to go to Virginia Waters, where you can walk around a Magnificent lake, which has ancient ruins (their fake), a waterfall, a beautiful garden and a 100ft Totem pole for you to look at on the way round. They also have the most beautiful giant waterlilies...
