Hi Everyone

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the summer as well as some of our Just You Tours !?

Well its not long before we launch our new tours, they will be hot footing it to you to browse in a few weeks time.

Once the we have put new tours together we immediately start researching more new tours to introduce.

So the holiday creators here at head office have been talking about a few much more unexplored areas of the globe and I wanted to ask you all if you would be interested in a tour to the following destinations:

Russia - We put this tour on hold for a while but feel its time to come back. We are looking at Moscow and St Petersburg as well as some new towns that can be accessed easily by a charming rail journey . Does this sound interesting?

Azerbaijan & Kazakhstan , these unexplored destinations have attractions such as Space stations, Alpine forests, and are either current or former capital cities, and both destinations have beautiful National parks? Would you like to learn more about the history and culture of these destinations?

As always we really appreciate your feedback and I look forward to hearing from you all.

Thank You

Alicia

Hi Alicia

Both tours sound fascinating. I would specially be interested in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan as I am presuming it will be a little bit similar to the Silk Road, which I hope to do in the near future. Everything depends on what new tours are on offer. It is certainly getting difficult to decide which one to do first!!

Would love to do Russia, but wonder what the situation would be about a visa. I believe they are only issued on personal application in London or Edinburgh. Has this changed?

Hi Helen

Unfortunately the Russian Visa system has not changed , however they are making the process a lot quicker and planning to open a consulate in the East Midlands. Until now yes it would be a day out in London or Edinburgh.

Ill keep everyone updated if anything changes

Hi Alicia,

Thank you for asking about these tours, both sound wonderful and I would be very interested in doing them both! I put off doing the Russia tour as I wanted to do the Golden Ring departure on a date that suited and then it was dropped!! I understand the visa situation has made things more difficult but I think, coming from Ireland, I would be able to get my own visa clearance in Dublin and then join the main tour party - would that be right? A Russia tour including some Golden Ring cities or other places of interest would be my ideal and would be pretty much near the top of my wish list!

I understand the scenery in Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan is breathtaking and for that reason, as well as learning about their history and culture, I would be very interested in doing a tour there.

I hope both itineraries make it on to the JY agenda over the next year or so!

Best wishes,

Bob

I would love to do Russia too Alicia, but the idea of having to go to London to get a visa is a bit alarming.

I would be very interested in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Uzbekistan is in my top 4 JY holidays (I've done 17 in all) and I would love a chance to explore more of the Central Asia area, it would be just what I'm looking for in a holiday.

Hi

I would definitely be interested in Russia particularly if it involved a train journey and also Montenegro is on my wish list.

Thanks for asking.

Kazakhstan - oh yes please!

I've done Uzbekistan and would love to go to Kazakhstan though I dare say they are very different.

I remember flying over the Altai Mountains coming home from Hong Kong and tried to figure out how I would get there - if I was that adventurous. The solution - fly to Almaty in Kazakhstan.

I've been on Azerbaijan Airlines flying to Istanbul and it was one of my best flights. The complimentary straight vodka went down a treat!

Both sound amazing! The fact that you are adding more places for Russia make it even more exciting!

A and K - definitely! I'd book for this.

Russia - Tolstoy's birthplace (Tula, I think) is not so very far from Moscow by train

but I've never found a tour that includes this. It would be very interesting to visit, I think.

I've been to Moscow and St Petersburg

but I would be happy to go again if some other places were included.

Well Mark, to be fair I have to tell you that I have been taking JY holidays since 2005, and when possible and circumstances allow I try to take 2 holidays a year, so I think I may have had a bit of a head start over you. I know how extremely lucky I have been to be able to travel the way I have, but it's not how many holidays you clock up that's important, enjoying the holidays you are able to take, and I'm sure you enjoy every minute of yours, that's what really counts.

The team do a good job in trying to keep us all happy, must be really difficult for them with us all wanting different destinations, I quite like the sound of the new ideas, I enjoy something a bit different.

Happy holidays

Avocet, I agree. Loved, loved, loved Uzbekistan. And would go back if there was a tour that included surrounding countries - Turkmenistan looks really interesting - a little more adventurous - with an overnight camp at the gas crater! I want to this before I get too old!

Hi Bob

Good to hear from you and yes i have heard some great things about Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan too. We shall investigate the possibilities of putting a tour together.

Re the Russian Visa, i have sent our Russian agency a note to see if this can all be taken care of in Ireland before travel. I'm hoping they will say yes !

Have a great day

Alicia
