Many of you have talked about wanting to take a river cruise with us and, as you know, we listened and launched a 2016 River Cruise programme. This has gone down a storm with our travellers so we spoke very nicely to our partners and managed to get some last minute 2015 River Cruises too. So, if you are still looking to get away this year and have always liked the idea of meandering along one of Europe’s delightful rivers, taking in some wonderful scenery and making a stop or two along the way to explore the riverside towns and cities, one of these holidays may just be for you.

I'm glad these are selling well but if you just use the website it is very hard to find these JY special tours - river cruises don't show up on the "holiday types" or other tabs. If you have the promotional flyer, fair enough but otherwise they would be almost impossible to find. Perhaps this is something else the web team could look at? I see my other suggestions haven't been acted upon yet (missing destinations in the destinations tab etc) but perhaps they are just very busy.

I recognise the reason why they have to be last minute because of getting the cabins for single travellers but it's a shame that they are. I would have loved to try the Holland one but I am in Croatia. Aren't I? :P
I don't work at the moment, so I don't have to worry about getting holiday time but I do have to consider 2 cats who have to be booked for their holiday (if there is space in the cattery) before I can ever book mine. :D

Bosuncat - We've put these 2015 dates on because 2016 was selling so well... Given how well these are flying off the shelf, we are already talking to our partner about 2017 dates. Hopefully this will help with travellers that need a little longer to plan holidays around work/family/pets/other commitments.
Toni, good things come to those who wait.... Just this morning I have had my eyes on the list of included excursions for this particular trip - it's getting exciting!

I just hope there will be more than one departure date, or if there is only one that it doesn't clash with the only week I have cast in stone in my 2016 diary!! That would be just my luck.

When considering flight options for cruises, there are certain considerations that have to be accommodated. Unlike normal Tour bookings where, to a degree, arrival time at a hotel doesn’t matter, for the river cruises we have a fixed time of embarkation / disembarkation for the ship and, therefore, have to ensure that we allow enough time for our customers to be transferred.
In regards to Bordeaux, there are even more limiting factors in sourcing flights as nobody flies straight to Bordeaux from major regional airports. BA have have dropped the route from Manchester into London Gatwick, so we only offer a flight from Manchester to Heathrow and you would have to make your own way between the two airports. Also, these flights would not be on the same day - so you would have to spend a night at Gatwick on the outbound.
I hope this explains the choices made with regards to the flights for this cruise and you understand our own frustration, but please let me know if you have any further queries.

I had an e-mail from JY about these today and I really fancied the one to Bordeaux but again flights from Gatwick. Not on for a 6 day holiday in terms of time and cost. I am already going away at Christmas with another company because JY are flying from Gatwick for the holiday I want to do. If the company I am going with can fly from Manchester, why can't JY? I have loved my JY hols and am going to Croatia with you in May flying from Manchester. Please JY, try harder for regional flights even if they are connecting ones. I have heard all the arguments on the Forum as why JY uses Gatwick but it doesn't stack up. Also another company I am going with offers chauffeur driven car at no cost for long haul door to door. What about this JY?
I fully agree with you, why can't there be more flights direct from Manchester - I had to travel to Gatwick by train for my Venetian River Cruise recently, yet there are flights direct to Venice, JY had not prebooked them, so they told me! I will NOT be travelling from Gatwick any time soon. Heather
Why does Just You not send a brochure listing all the River Cruises? I've had a flyer, but does not give much details, no flight details. Are there any available in 2016? Willt there be any that fly direct from Manchester Airport?

Perhaps JY could start offering the same options? I wouldn't have thought it would affect the financial viability of the trips, but could well boost take up.
A full brochure wasn't produced for the 2015 river cruises as we hadn't planned them.... They have been a last minute addition to the programme as the dates for 2016 have been proving so popular.

Could I please second this request?
I have just received a mini-brochure devoted to 2016 cruises which contains details of a very attractive cruise along the Irrawaddy (unfortunately I can't manage the one date which is offered): I can't find this on the JY website - and it isn't even in the above list! Presumably this one is literally "hot off the press"!?
An expansion into Asian river cruises (particularly Pandaw) - if that is JY's intention - would be very interesting, and it would be good to see something about this on the website in due course.
