Regarding this tour and the MANY hotels that you stay in..

There are washing machines at some hotels but not all. Also take on board you won't be the only person wishing to do a wash. Some people doubled up to save time so if you have a washing bag thing take that for your bits n bobs!!!!The soap powder you either purchase in the washroom or from reception you don't have to take your own. I tried to do mine when we had more than 1 night at a place so it could dry.

The other thing was where we only had say 1 night we just put what was needed for that night and the clothes for the next day in a holdall the main case stayed on the coach, this saved the drivers back and also made life easier you just had a little bit of stuff to deal with in a room not the whole case. Did make life much easier. Some people insisted on the main case every stop I was more than happy to travel light. So might be worth packing a small holdall or back pack for this.

Last time I went to NZ I took my oldest underwear and socks and bought new in Christchurch and then rather than take time washing I dumped the old ones after use!
