This was my first trip with JY and I loved it.

It always depends on what sort of thing you like but the trip to Ronda was really good. It was a long drive through the mountains to get there but we had a few hours to have lunch and just wander around. I didn't go on the Gibraltar trip but those who did said that it was good. Frigliana and Nerja in one day was fine although we didn't have as much time in Nerja as I would have liked. Most of our time was taken up having lunch - but maybe that was because we were too busy chatting. On the first day we had a couple of hours in Fuengirola which wasn't my cup of tea. However it was a chance to see where the station was as on a free day I went to the Picassa exhibition in Malaga. The Alhambra trip was very good but may not be what interests you. Finally on the last day we had time to wander around the lovely streets of Mijas where there are lots of little shops, restaurants and cafes where you can watch the world pass by! Hi Rae,

I wonder if you could help me at all. I am on this trip for Christmas and am trying to find out about public transport to Malaga. I am planning on meeting some friends who live in Nerja at Malaga. Did you catch the bus from Fuengirola, or did you go by train? Whichever you used, how long did it take and what's the timetable like?

If all else fails, I will just hope to have enough time in Nerja to meet up with them there.

It sounds just what I am looking for. It suits me to wander around a bit and see things. I was thinking of going to the Alhambra but not to Gibraltar as I thought I would like to spend some time in Mijas itself. So mind made up now, off to book.

We took the train to Malaga. They are pretty frequent and take about 50 minutes if I remember rightly. The person I went with had a timetable that she got from either the tour manager or the hotel. The station in Fuengirola is very near where the bus ends the journey from Mijas. We couldn't see the station right away but a bit of mime and sound effects did the trick and we were pointed in the right direction!
