I did this tour last year.  I took a world wide adaptor, bought from Amazon, and used that throughout Japan.    Most of the sockets in Hong Kong are the same as the UK.

Thank you for replying I will take a worldwide adapter.  I am looking forward to the holiday as I wanted to go somewhere really different and out of my comfort zone.  I am veggie so a bit worried about food.
