Hi Julia or Mildred

I have been discussing the Passion Play with a friend and was wondering whether there is any chance of it being offered as an add-on for any of the 2020 tours.

I understand that if you want to go to see it you have to book up very early, could be a couple of years in advance.

Kind regards,

Di

Hi Di,

You understand correctly - you do have to book early to for the Passion Play as it is a very popular event.

The team are currently looking at the itineraries for Oberammergau and we are hoping to have a pre-registration up and running on the website soon. I would recommend getting your name on the list so that you'll be the first to hear about what is available when we launch the programme surrounding this once-in-a-lifetime event.

Kindest regards,

Julia

HI Di, thanks for asking the question. I was aware, because of information I had received from another tour company, that tickets are now being released. But so far have not seen anyone offering a tour to sign up to.

Not sure that I'm a fan of the "pre-registration" idea, seems very wishy washy (and uncertain) - would much rather actually book something even if its so far ahead.

I have seen this advertised with Leger since before Easter. Something I have always wanted to do, but having done Leger with an overnight ride there and back to Lake Como and Maggiore last year- you can understand my reluctance with booking. Three years is a long time to think about something, but I am willing.

Hi Julia

Thank you for the information!

I will certainly keep an eye on the website for the info. regarding registering an interest.

Best wishes

Hi Katy

I think that, like you, I would sooner book than pre-register an interest.

Perhaps JY want us to pre-register so that they can gauge what interest there is for The Passion Play.

Kind Regards

Di

I agree. I like a firm booking. It's bad enough waiting for tours to be given the green light. I would be very disappointed to pre register then find the trip didn't go ahead.

Hi Jan, not sure I like the idea of an overnight (bus?) either. But will look at Leger though because I really want to go.

Hi Dina and Sarah, seems as if JY not sure about running trips there, so guess more research needed on other tour companies. I did get an email a little while ago from another holiday group - Titan - they were giving a heads up that they will be doing Oberammergau holidays, but nothing since. Am also aware that last time round in 2010, Colette travel took a lot of customers.

If anyone else knows anything would be glad to hear. I know the tickets have been/are being released now.

Looking at Leger, they have 4 different trips with the cheapest at £995 + £189 single suppliment. This includes 2 nights in hotel in Belgium there and back, for 7 days. Includes ticket for play, day visiting Bavarian Castles and a day in Innsbruck. Not a bad price for what you get. No double rooms though and some singles room you cannot swing a cat in if you pay the single suppliment.
