Good Afternoon Jane,

Currency Information

The currency in Croatia is the Kuna (HRK), which is widely available in the UK. You will also be able to exchange Sterling when in Croatia. Please bear in mind that Croatia charges high commission when exchanging Travellers Cheques. We also recommend that you inform your bank/card company of your trip, in order to avoid any problems when withdrawing cash from ATM’s; as a security method on your behalf, banks occasionally stop withdrawals in the event that they are being used fraudulently abroad.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hi Jane,

Just to flesh out Mildred's answer - in Montenegro they use euro (even though they are not in the Eurozone, don't ask me!!) and in Bosnia they use the convertible mark which I don't think you'll be able to get in the UK - but as you are only in Mostar for a few hours you can either get some while there or possibly manage without.  Some places may take euro as well.

Have a great holiday and please do write a review when you get back, as it's a tour I'd love to do over the next few years!

All the best,

Bob

Hi Jane.

You will probably have to order your Kuna in advance too.  Speaking from experience you would have to give them a couple of days to order in, although you may find some of the larger banks keep a supply in.

I didn't do the Mostar trip last year when I went, but you can't order the currency there out of the country.  I believe, from what people said that they will accept the Euro and kuna there too, and there are ATM's anyway if you want to exchange a small amount.  Lunch is included in the trip, so you may only need a small amount for shopping.

Yes, to Euro in Montenegro.  Again you will only need it for lunch and shopping, and unless things have altered you only get a short stop (about a hour and a half) off the coach there anyway.

Have a great time, and give my love to Cavtat.  🙂

Hi Jane,

Hope you had a great holiday.  I was on the Croatian Coastal Cruise in May an amazing holiday.

I am wondering what the weather is like in that area in early May, can you give me an idea please. I am thinking of doing this holiday in May next year.  😉
