I have been informed by our consular services team that there has been some changes to the Visas for Vietnam, and this will relate to your holiday. Please see the details below which have been provided by the Vietnam embassy.

"Between 1st July 2015 and 30th June 2016, British nationals traveling to Vietnam for a period of up to 15 days (for all purposes) with British passports, and meeting all conditions prescribed by Vietnamese laws, will NOT need entry visa. The same rule applies to French, Italian, Spanish and German nationals.

(Note: According to Vietnam immigration law, to be eligible for visa exemption, your passport must have at least six months validity. If you wish to enter Viet Nam at least two consecutive times without visa, the next entry must be at least 30 days after the previous exit. If you enter Viet Nam the first time with visa, then the next entry without visa can be less than 30 days after your previous exit). For all visa applications received by the embassy before 18th June 2015, the visas have been processed and no refund of visa fee is available regardless of your travel dates."

we are booked on the Vietnsm tour for Nov 5th this year, does this mean we do not need a visa and that you will not require our passport from around August time and with the fee having been added to our invoice would that be withdrawn

My colleague has advised that as you are on a single entry you do not need the visa and the cost will be removed from your booking. I believe they are in the process of contacting all customers that this applies to. She had to double check as there are still some tours where there is a double entry and the Visa will still apply.

It's funny how we keep having hols in common. I'm actually doing a TS trip again - the Mekong Delta one in November.

I think next year I'll be back with JY again - I'm currently looking at Burma - get in there before it changes as they say.
