I am looking forward to the US National Parks Tour departing 9 September. Looking around the forum I think I have found the answer to my question but I would appreciate confirmation, please.

To bring one large trolley case weighing 23 Kg would be too much for me to manage so I am proposing to bring two smaller cases with only around 12 Kg in each. I am travelling Premium Economy so know the airline (BA) will be happy with that.

I hope I am right in thinking that there will be porterage for one case but I would have to bring the other with hand luggage to the coach myself. I am very happy to do this.

Yes, that is possible. As you mention, hotel porterage is for one suitcase so as long as you are happy to transfer the second (with your hand luggage) that is fine.
