Hi Julia

I note that our trip has also sold out now, so could you give us the usual final numbers, male/female and age range split, please? (not that it matters but its always interesting to know)

Also, do we have a provisional TM yet?

Finally, I note that we are flying BA this time - I know its a group booking but, if I call Customer Services, will they be able to add my BA Executive Club number to my reservation so that I can earn some Avios points?

Many thanks

Mandy

Good Afternoon Mandy,

Yes this tour is fully booked with 40 travellers and the group is made up of 11 men and 29 women. The age ranges from early-40s to late-70s.

The tour manager provisionally allocated to this tour is Wendy Burdett.

Drop us an email with your details and the Just You aviation team will be able to help you.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hello Mildred and Mandy

I also am a BA Executive Club member. What email address should I/we use?

Whenever I fly BA, I just show my card when checking in - and they log it in.   No need to do anything in advance.    I always keep it together with my passport .

Thanks Rose.  I too have previously offered my card when checking in but dependent on the staff member, determines whether they add it or not!  I have also previously input my details via the BA Executive Club website once I have the locator number.

Mildred - thanks for email address, I've made contact.

Regards

Sylvia

Hi Julia and Mildred

One more quick question, this time about 'In resort' payments.

I've already pre-booked a number of optional excursions on the National Parks Tour but note that the flight over Monument Valley is only bookable in resort via TM or Local Guide. I know that, in the past, TM's have been unable to accept credit/debit card payments. As the flight is nearly £400, I was wondering if we will be able to pay with cards this time or if I should make sure to bring plenty of additional cash to cover it. This is certainly one excursion that I don't want to miss!

Many thanks

Good Afternoon Mandy,

You can pay by credit card if you let the tour manager know in advance that this is how you will pay.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hi Mandy,

I paid for two plane flights and one helicopter trip on the NPs tour by credit card with no problems - I think just about everyone did.  All well worth it.  Have a blast!

Cheers,

Bob

Hi Mandy

I'm looking to (finally!) do this one next year so I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on it on your return. Thanks also for all your great advice on Easter Island, really looking forward to it.

Thanks Mildred and Bob - its good to know that I don't have to take too much cash. If the money belt is too full, I can't do my trousers up!

Hi Sally - I promise I will write a review of all the photography and fridge magnet hot spots! I've been looking forward to this one for a while now  - Mr Gray recommended it (no pressure, Bob..)

Not long to go for you to Rapa Nui now (how many days? not that you are counting...) I think I asked this on another thread but if you have any hints or recommendations for Santiago when you get back, I'd be really grateful. BA have shifted my return flights in January and so I've got a couple of nights there now.

Happy travels

Mandy

Any idea what the weather is likely to be or is it just a case of layers and should I take a swimsuit? 😉

Good Afternoon Silburn,

It looks as though the weather is changeable at this time of year so I would suggest layers. Colder in the evenings though.  It doesn’t look like there will be any snow

Some of the hotels on the tour have swimming pools so you may want to take a swimming costume.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hi Silburn

I'm on this trip too and agree that you should dress in layers.  Having been to Canada (the Rockies) before in September, I took layers - you needed a fleece first thing and you could strip off to t-shirt late morning onwards for the unseasonably hot weather!  Always take a swimsuit just in case...

Hi I went in Sept 2013 and the weather was excellent and it got hotter the further south we went.  It was overcast and damp in Yellowstone, but it didn't take away from the experience and I still got amazing photos.  The rest of the time it was warm to very hot and sunny.  I think you will probably spend almost all the time in t-shirts and shorts but a light fleece or rain jacket is definitely a good idea.  Very few of the hotels had pools and certainly on our tour, there was very little free time to use one even if there was one!

Cheers,

Bob
