Hi everyone!! Paul Here ! Well I sort of stumbled across this forum looking for my first ever singles holiday!! I have no idea where to start OR where to go, so was wondering if anyone could recommend a good starter holiday for a young at heart 49 year old man, looking to meet new friends , and who enjoys socialising ? I am quite nervous , having never holidayed alone before but would prefer to spend my mealtimes on holiday with like minded people rather than sitting on my own looking sad ( been there done that - lol !). Look forward to your replies. Plan to take a holiday in July 2011 by the way .

Hello there Paul

It might be worth you posting this on the main board if you have not allready done so.I am sure you have had a look around at what people are posting on the boards but in a nut shell.

Main Age Range 55-70 but younger and older ages will also be there, so you would be a YOUNG one!!!

More ladies than Gentleman travel but that has never been a problem on any trip I have been on.

The holiday's are very good value for money I think.

It's nice to have other people to go around with, and eat at the end of the day with.

I like the fact the a group of people who mostly do not know each other gel very quickley and become holiday friends.

So great holidays to be had and a great new bunch of people to meet = Happy Holiday for me.

I can not recommend any one holiday for you to try. In five 5 years I have done 7 with another booked for 2012. 4 long haul and 3 short haul, really have enjoyed them all.

So have a look on line or in the brochure and give it a go.

Hi Paul

I've just paid for my first ever singles holiday to America 12/09/2011, Golden West. I'm sure everyone who books their first singles venture is nervous, I know I am but I'm also excited about meeting new people and seeing more of the USA.

Whatever you decide and whichever holiday you choose I'm sure you'll have a great time. I too have sat in a restaurant on my own before on holiday and it isn't the best experience.

So good luck, take the plunge and have a fantastic time.

Katherine
