Hi All

I am thinking of Cilento Coast for next May and as the Hotel has changed would a recent traveller be kind enough to give their opinion on the Hotel and also the trip as a whole.

Many thanks

Paul

Hi just back from Cilento a week ago.the hotel was wonderful, rooms very clean WiFi good and kettle and tea/coffee in room.,good food, water and wine free with evening meal.swimming pool never crowded loads of chairs, beach is a lovely  5 min stroll through woods then you get allocated a sun lounger, deck chair and parasol which is yours for the week so no need to race to reserve them ! All trips were good,Paestum very interesting and  views from Castellabate amazing would highly recommend this holiday.lesley

Hi Lesley

Thanks for the reply. A few questions if I may. What time did you have to leave hotel for the airport for flight home, I would fly from Gatwick. Did you do the farmhouse cookery lesson and did it leave room for the evening meal. Is there a reasonable size bar/lounge area in the hotel for perhaps the odd cold one before and after the evening meal as I have always found on previous JY holidays that this is an excellent way to get to know your fellow travellers. Free wine with meal (acquired taste or pretty good ???). Kettle tea and coffee in the room that must be a first for Italy.

Sorry I think that's it.

Many thanks Paul

Hi Paul,we left hotel early for the return flight for Gatwick think it was about 6.45 they did open restaurant so we could have a good breakfast.in fact it was too early as had ages at airport.we all used to meet for pre and after drinks outside by the pool as there is a good seating area there and a bar.the one inside was never open as weather so hot we all wanted to enjoy the evening air. I’m sure if it’s cooler that will be open.the cookery course was cancelled on my week as need  8 or more to do it and couldn’t entice people in the heat.wine was surprisingly good!hope you enjoy trip as much as I did, lesley

Hi Paul,

I'd agree with most  of the above. The hotel was excellent, very friendly staff and excellent facilities.  I was there May 12 -19, it felt rather early season with rather a small group - only 11 of us - so maybe we got special treatment.  Not brilliant weather but a few of us did brave the pool, a bit cold but OK when we were in!  Plenty of space around the inside bar which was doing good business early Season. Again not enough takers for the cookery class, very interesting excursions, I'd add the National Park as another highlight.

Hi Lesley and Charles

Many thanks for your replies they have brought this holiday to top of my list probably 31st May 2020.  I can certainly vouch for the weather Charles, I was in Calabria 9-16th May and had very similar and again early season we had a group of 16 which was excellent to get to know each other.

Enjoy your next adventure with MY

Paul
