Yes .... me!  🙂

Hello there! Dates 15th to 27th November 2019? I'm Jill and I shall be flying to Delhi from Manchester via Dubai with Emirates. How about you?

I have just phoned JY to ask a few Qs about the visa and co-travellers so I will tell you what I discovered. I believe so far there's 12 of us on the trip with 2 spare places still. There's 3 of us (all ladies) flying from Manchester so I am interested in finding out who they are.  😃 Apparently the London flight arrives in Delhi just 5 minutes before the Manchester flight so we will all arrive at the airport together.

JY apparently sort out the visa for us with our passport details - it can only be applied for a month in advance of departure. If JY needs our passports, they will let us know.

Our TM is a lady called Marsha.

I look forward to meeting you, Sheryl.

Nomaste! :sleepy:

Hi

Has anyone been on this Tiger Tour who can give me some tips and info please?

Any tips would be gratefully received.

Q.  What did you do about changing money? Thanks.

Q.   Could you tell me if the day you arrive is completely free between arriving at the hotel and the welcome drink at dinner? If we are free, I am thinking of organising a private care tour of Delhi. If anyone is interested in joining me, please let me know.

Jill

Marsha was our TM in Puglia two weeks ago and she's great, so you'll have no worries there! She was looking forward to your trip too.

Hi Jill

Not doing this tour but did Spirit of India trip.

The Indian rupee us a closed currency which means that you need to change money when you arrive. Your Tour Manager will be able to advise on this.

Read your itinerary and it looks as if you are taken on a sightseeing tour of Delhi when you arrive.

India is a fascinating country which I am sure you will enjoy.

Hope this helps

Hi,

I am on the Tiger Tour, along with a friend who is a JY newby. We are the other two flying from Manchester travelling across from the Sheffield area. Hopefully we'll see you in the airport lounge if not at check-in.

If you haven't already asked JY to sort out your visa it is quite easy to do yourself once you have the electronic copies of your photo and passport. You need those for JY to do it anyway.

On previous trips to India I have changed sterling for rupees at the airport and then used cards in hotels.

Good to hear that we all arrive in Delhi around the same time. I'm starting to get excited about the trip now.

Thanks, Mike, for your answer. That's very reassuring to know.

I've just returned from the spirit of India trip with Marsha as our tour manager. She is an amazing tour manager - there is nothing she hasn't prepared for or can't deal with!

It was my first JY trip and I felt completely safe and looked after with Marsha leading our group. I'd advise taking sterling or US dollars which she will advise you on changing when you arrive. Although there are ATMs they're not always working so better to take enough cash to change into rupees there. I'd also recommend taking Bimuno travel aid probiotics as suggested by JY - I had no stomach problems at all!

Enjoy!

Just a quick one to wish you all a wonderful trip and multiple tiger sightings - everything crossed for you! Also to kindly request a review on your return as I am down to do this tour next year.

Have a great time!  🙂
