I'm trying to sort out plug adapters ready for my imminent trip. I have one suitable for the hotel in Austria but wondered if I would need a separate adapter at all for Switzerland as I understand there is a different one again for that country.

If the trip you are referring to is the Heart of Alpine Europe one, which I did a year or two back, you stay in the hotel in Austria for the whole of the week, going out to different countries each day, so you only need the normal European adapter.   Have a lovely time.
