Hello,
Was on the Heart & Soul trip with last year my 5th American touring holiday with JY.
Unless its one of the organised nights people tend to do their own thing in the evenings, not on their own but in mini-groups that develop naturally between like minded people.
The 5 US hols I've done have been great and it wouldn't be easy to pick a favorite.
My first was American Golden West, actually my first JY hol and what got me coming back. Great Cities mixed with changing scenary from coast to mountains to desert, loved it.
Parks & Canyons - Phoenix to Vegas, loved every minute but 8 nights i thought too short.
Route 66, Iconic something i had to do, some nice places but the scenary forthe most part is actually a little boring, the places you see and stop at along the route along withsome small museums and a few charactors you meet make up for it.
National Parks - Well the other holidays are hectic but this really is living out of a suitcase, but unfogettable all the way some cracking places i've not even heard of along with more famouse parks.Of course i'm a western fan so places like deadwood,LBH, Monument valley i loved.
Heart & Soul - Another of my loves is Blues music so this is the Blues Highway (well actually you go along the interstate not route 61). Chicago, St Louis, Memphis & New Orleans all very different but all worth visiting in their own right (don't expect too much scenary in between).
One comment for JY this needs another night and would suggest the Vicksburg or Clarksdale areas (memphis to New Orleans is too far for one day), add a visit to the Blues museum (clarksdale) on the extra day and this holiday would be signficantly better.
