Hello. Hoping to go In February next year with Victoria Falls add on for my 50th birthday. Has anyone else been this time of year? What was your experience like?

Hi Soupy,

I did this tour in Sept 2011 with the Zambia add-on and it was my best holiday ever! So although I cannot comment directly on the weather in Feb, I would imagine it would be a bit hotter than when I went - probably in the mid 30s centigrade. In Zambia it could be hotter still, but it is a dry heat and not humid so I was able to manage without too much difficulty (I find it tough in humid weather and it was 40C one day in Zambia and I was ok!). A bonus of going this time of year if you do the add-on is that the Victoria Falls will be in full flow - so if you do the helicopter flight you will get amazing panorama shots. It was at a lower volume when I was there, but still an incredible sight. Hope this helps, if you would like any other info please ask!

Best wishes,

Bob

Hi Soupy

I went to SA in March 2012 with the add-on although the programme has changed a bit since then. It's a great holiday, you see and do so much. Two people in the group celebrated their birthdays - one in South Africa and the other in Zambia! Try and do as many of the excursions as possible, including the trip to Chobe in Botswana.

If you have any specific questions, please ask.

Have fun

Sylvia

I did the South Africa tour with Victoria Falls add on in February 2013. The falls were in full spate and spectacular although the water was too high for a visit to Victoria Island. We had two very wet days in South Africa otherwise it was warm and sunny. It was noticeably warmer in Zambia and on the optional safari to Botswana. The safaris in Kruger park were amazing. If you can, do all the optional game drives. I did both as well as the included morning drive. The sight of giraffes appearing from the bush, and watching from our safari truck as a lion marched his four lionesses past was unforgettable.
