Hello everyone. I am considering going on the Japan trip. Has anyone done this holiday and if so would you recommend it? I would really appreciate any comments as I am a little undecided at the moment. Thanks.

Hi Ruth,

I've not done the tour itself but I LOVE Japan. I've never been anywhere so fascinating (and I have been to a lot of places!). i hope you decide to go, I have never known anyone not to love the place!

(I'm going again in 9 weeks and counting!)

Hi Ruth,

I did the Japan - Land Of The Rising Sun holiday with Travelsphere as a single traveller last October - the itinerary was very similar to the JY one. I really enjoyed the holiday and will definitely go back in the coming years - I would want to go though during the blossom season and would like to see more gardens, as well as Osaka and Nagasaki.

We had Sarah Wrightson as our tour guide (my second holiday with her) and she did a great job as usual. All the local tour guides were very good, especially my favourite Yuki who we had in Tokyo. I feel that I would have got more out of the holiday if I had made the effort to learn some of the language before flying out. Also, whilst not a problem for me personally, several in our group did not expect to be served raw seafood one evening as part of a traditional meal.

The only qualm I had about the holiday was that it was not long enough for the price. Our holiday was 13 days (so slightly longer than the JY one) and I would have liked extra days to explore Osaka (Japan's second city).

Of the 5 holidays I have done with JY and Travelsphere in Asia, Japan is definitely one I would want to do again. Go for it - I think you will enjoy it.
