Hello,

I am on the brink of booking my first JY holiday. I really wanted to do the Walking in Tuscany but the departure dates don't work for me, so have decided on the Highlights of Tuscany instead. I'm thinking of either the 21 May, 4 June, 11 June or 25 June departure dates and was wondering if anyone else has already booked up for any of these dates?

Also those that have already been on this trip, would you recommend as a first JY trip?

Thanks so much

Hello Wanderlust

This was my very first JY holiday back in 2005, I chose it because I was very apprehensive as to what a holiday on my own with people I didn't know would be like, but I also have a love for Italy. I was a bit of a nervous wreck travelling down to the airport, but I needn't have worried, I thought it was a great holiday and excellent for my first JY trip. In fact I loved it so much it then gave me the confidence to go on to take bigger steps.

I have been on 16 holidays with JY, 13 long haul and 3 short haul with number 17 coming up soon and it was all down to Highlights of Tuscany, so yes, I for one, would recommend this as a first JY trip.

Hi Wanderlust.

It's a good trip. I loved the hotel, it's small and friendly and the staff are so nice. Rooms are fairly basic but the beds are comfortable and the food, served in the restaurant across the road which is owned by the hotel is very good. Great measures in the bar too.

You do get to see an awful lot in the trips, but be aware that some of them are very long days, (particulary Siena). Florence and Pisa are both awesome. Siena was spoilt for me because we had torrential rain but it was still wonderful to see it.

Of the two optional trips I only did Elba, which was a really nice day. The island is beautiful.

I have been to Tuscany several times but not with JY. Is a really beautiful area of Italy. The reviews of this holiday look very positive. You can be confident that you will be well looked after on a JY tour. Let us know what you decide.

Hi Wanderlust,

I have not been on this trip but on the 4 trips i have been on with JY , many had visited Tuscany and said the trip was wonderful. If you get the tour manager Jonathon as well you are in for a real treat.

There are many reviews on this trip that i advise you to look at. Ill find some links for you....

Thank you so much. That has made me feel much better about just going ahead and booking it. 16 trips is a good enough recommendation for me!

Hello Rosie,

Thank you so much. It's always good to hear from someone who has actually been on the trip. I think I will go ahead and book for 25 June departure.

Thank you to everyone who has replied to my message. They have certainly made me feel a lot more confident about booking. Think I will just go for it. Sounds like I have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain! Thank you again.

I to have been on the highlight of Tuscany tour, great tour not to hectic, hotel situated right by the sea, some rooms are better than others but it's just to wash and sleep in!! Good measures of drink in the hotel!!! Nice trips out, and the the hotel is near a town to watch the world go by while eating ice cream!!!

Have fun
