Not long now...

Would be great to hear from anyone else booked on this trip perhaps with a view to exchanging ideas before we go and maybe meeting up for coffee/ brunch at Gatwick?

I intend to travel down on the morning from the Midlands as the flight is at a good time.

Hope to hear from you.

D 🙂

Hi Paul,

I can answer a few of these questions for you... At the moment there are 18 travellers booked on this date- 3 men and 15 women with ages from late-30s through to early-80s.

In terms of flights - these are listed as from Gatwick, provisional departure time is 13:10hrs. The return flight is due to land back in Gatwick at 22:30hrs. However, I must provide the usual disclaimer that flights are subject to change and information would be confirmed in your final documents.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Thanks for the info Julia unfortunatley looks like I won't be able to do this as I have plans the day before and getting to gatwick on the day of Departure is looking like a bit of a nightmare with a midday flight

Hi Dido123,

I can confirm that you are not the only traveller - there are 18 of you travelling to Slovenia on this festive break.

I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hello,

As I have posted elsewhere, I went on this trip last Christmas and had a marvellous time. Three tips:

If not already done, paying extra for lake view is very worthwhile - castle and lakeside are lit up at night

On included trip to island, be sure to try the drinking chocolate - like no other - marvellous!

Do try Bled cake as often as possible, your diets can wait.

Also, if you like chocolate,, there is a shop between the hotel and lake which sells salted chocolate. Sounds horrible, but is rather more-ish.

Have a great holiday.

Thank you for the reassurance, Julia.

Thank you for the tips David - I have booked a lake view room - sounds gorgeous. I shall certainly be in the market for the treats you mention too.

May I ask another question please...Not a massive worry but I've read somewhere on here about the lack of / quality of bath towels. Can I ask whether you found the same? Should I take a couple?

Only 5 more days to go

I wouldn't worry about towels - can't remember what they were like but I didn't complain last year so I should think they were ok! You can always ask for more - I always do as I have long hair and like to wrap it up in a turban! You could also ask about a towelling robe at reception - last year it cost 5 Euro for the whole holiday. Useful for going to the pool too. (Pool towels provided)

Have a great time! 🙂

Hi David

I just hope my upcoming trip to Italy and Croatia at least equals Lake Bled! It was a great introduction to Christmas holidays away from home, the setting was amazing and of course the company was great!

Have a wonderful time in Iceland - wrap up warm!

Best wishes for Christmas & New Year, and happy holidays for 2015!

Just had a thought re photographs. From your room or from the top floor you will be able to take photos of the castle, island, lake side etc. These are illuminated at night. My best illuminated photos were taken around dusk - when the castle etc was lit up but you could still see all the details.

Don't worry Kedi, I couldn't fault hotel. Facilities were excellent (one of the best hotel pools I have come across) and staff most helpful. Did I mention the Bled cake!
