I did this tour in 2011, in September, and had a brilliant time - the Alaska add on was part of that tour, but to my knowledge that bit doesn't happen anymore. The Canadians are lovely people, and the tour guides and coach drivers all seem to be excellent - we had Allison as our tour manager (totally off her rocker, and fantastic fun!) and Jason was the tour guide/driver and he was hilarious.

You would have a fantastic time and I would say go on as many optional tours as you can - rafting, glaciers, helicopter rides - the lot!

I too have been on this holiday - in June 2013 - and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I wrote a review after I came back. If you go into "Search", "Reviews" and then enter "Canadian Rockies and Vancouver", you'll find it. The only difference I can see in this year's programme is that the helicopter ride isn't mentioned. This may be because (a) it depends on the weather and (b) our TM told us that companies such as Thomas Cook and those in Japan/China seem to make block bookings ages in advance; we only managed to fly because none of the aforesaid companies confirmed on the day. If you get the opportunity to go on the helicopter, do take it - the views are fantastic and I still drool over the photos I took.

I've done a few holidays with JY now and whilst I've enjoyed them all, this trip remains my favourite. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish and I totally agree with Anne - do as many of the optional extras as you can.

There's a number of reviews/comments in other threads on here about this trip so I'll say no more for fear of duplicating them but I definitely, definitely recommend it.

I did this trip in September last year. It was absolutely brilliant and I only wished it was longer than the 9 nights or whatever it was.

Don't think any longer, just book it. My first JY trip in 2010 was to NZ!

I'll be booking all the optional excursions I can. They all sound fun. Pre booked the Lake Lousie trip and the nature walk over the phone today but was told the others have to be booked with the tour manager on the holiday but we'll get more info with the holiday pack :)
