Hi,

Well you have come to the right place for information.

I made my first ever visit to Italy in September. I went to Calabria, and absolutely loved it. I am going to Apulia next September and hope it lives up to Calabria. Quiet, not many tourists, inexpensive, glorious food, I could go on for ever! Hope Apulia is similar.

Regards

Sylvia

Hello

I have only been in the highlights of Tuscany tour which I really enjoyed. So if I can help at all just ask? I have been on many tours they are good fun, a good mix of varied ages normally there are more ladies than men and it is a very safe way to travel. I hope you find a tour you like the look of.

Hello!

I. too. have been on the Highlights of Tuscany tour, lovely hotel, plenty of excursions and an extremely good Tour Manager.

My first Italian trip was Lake Como at Christmas, last year. Fantastic hotel, all inclusive, wonderful ambience, all tours included, the best being the train to ride to St Moritz through the snowfields. Best Tour Manager, Richard Lord.

Recently returned from Lake Garda trip. Again, lots of places to visit, trips over the lake.

Would recommend Lake Como at Christmas, first, then Highlights of Tuscany. Depends on what you want, really. Devour the brochure, make comparisons and then go for it.

Good luck in your search.

Denise

Hi Constance

Yes, I am going with JY. It will be my third with them. I have already booked for 8 Sept. I have to fly to Gatwick from Glasgow and some days there are a limited number of flights, so I need to get in early.

For me Italy is my favourite country......love everything about it! I've tried to visit Italy at least once a year since 1974!

With JY I've been to Lake Como, Tuscany and Villas of the Veneto and I would probably rank them in that order for enjoyment. However I doubt I could visit any part of Italy and not enjoy it! Next year I'm off to Rome for 4 days ( not with JY though). I doubt you'll have any problem choosing a trip!

Hi Bosuncat

I was looking at Cilento Coast. I have been to Lido di Jesolo 3 times. I kept going back because it has the right balance of sun sea and there are loads of cafe bars with music.

I am wondering if Cilento will be too quiet or is there any nightlife there. Also, is it very isolated. Can you get around without a car?

I'd like to see another part of Italy but want to make sure I won't be too isolated.

Cilento is quiet but that's why I love it so much. Only a small village with a few bars. There is a local bus service into Santa Maria which is a bit livelier.

I was on the Highlights of Tuscany trip at the beginning of October which was just out of season but there seemed to be plenty of bars which I guess would be open more in season.

Have you ever considered Croatia? Rabac, where the Istrian Discovery trip is based is a fairly lively little place, a fair few bars with music, and the hotel has entertainment on some nights.

Of course if you want plenty going on there is also Sorrento which is very lively!

Hi Sylvia do you have the flight times for the Apulia trip I looked at it and dismissed it as was flying from gatwick but if can get a connecting flight from Glasgow it would definitely be an option for me

Thanks

Hi there

If you want nightlife, then perhaps Cilento is not for you. Personally, I loved it, and many of our group enjoyed a couple of lovely evenings in a local village bar, but that's about it unless you bus into the town a couple of miles away and walk or cab back. Last year, I joined the Tuscany trip. The hotel is located a short walk from bars, cafés etc, so much more going on; I was there in June. The hotel is small and friendly and excursions are plentiful and interesting for all, I.e. Architecture, quaint, scenery, shopping.. Take your pick!
