Hi Kerry;
(my favourite name. No offence but I had a beloved labrador called Kerry!! 🙂 )
I endorse all the enthusiasm expressed here so far, having also done the Nile Cruise and, separately, Cairo and Sharm El Sheik. Sadly I’m at the other end of life’s spectrum and wish I had visited when nearer your age.
If you’re into antiquities as you seem to be, the excitement of treading the same paths as the pharaohs as well as slaves thousands of years ago and witnessing close-to just what they achieved is truly indescribable. Pictures really don’t do anything there justice.
I have just checked JY’s tours and notice that both include a visit to Cairo first. My first escorted tour in 2006 was the Nile Cruise only which blew my socks off and I just had to return to take in Cairo, instead of combining the two to start with. It’s good to see that both JY’s tours also take in the capital and, especially, the Egyptian Museum – another must-see.
If you can afford it, I highly recommend the longer of the two, there is so much to see and you won’t regret it, I promise!
Keep watching this thread – I’m a newbie to JY too, having just recently posted my own – and you’ll benefit from heaps of advice and experience frm so many other helpful travellers. Ask anything else you like, there’ll be someone who’ll have the answer. A great resource.
BOOK NOW!!! – as they say! :-)
