Morning Jean,

Im booking this holiday for Sept 2013 and so looking forward to it, this is my 2nd holiday with JY after going to Kenya in June and now got the bug for it lol, Iv got some advise which Ive picked up from other people on this hol so hope it helps.

these are the optional excursions. you can book all of them or as many as you like so your not just limited to 2 😛 Im booking 7 of them as its a shame to go all that way and not see it all. and pre book before or on holiday but they fill up very quickly 🙂

Bamboo Raft Ride ( £11.00)

Mekong River Cruise ( £11.00)

Phitsanuloke Trishaw ride ( £13.00)

Elephant Ride ( £17.00)

Hua Hin by Night ( £26.00)

Floating Market ( £28.00)

Rice Barge Tour ( £28.00)

River Kwai ( £50.00)

Cabaret show (£22.00)

For Thailand you dont need a Visa which is great as you need a visa for China £105 and India £99 so call it £100 saving, which Im putting towards drinks and gift ect.

Spending money people say about £150 - 300 Uk cash into Thai Baht is enough you can pay for drinks at the hotel by card and pre book the excursions before the hol here in the Uk over the phone. only thing you need is drinks gifts and a few lunches on the 2nd part of the trip. Im taking £200 and can always get more over there.

Doctors say you dont need Malerira tablets for the holiday as we are only in the North tribe for one day just take plenty of replents but im not sure about Jan so just double check.]

Im trying to find out about plugs as google is very confusing say must have two round plugs or two flat prongs like USA but will let you know.

In the Wats your not allowed to wear shorts or t-shirts showing your arms as its a holy place.

Hope this helps, feed back your holiday advise after you go

Hi Jean and Chloe, Jean see post above as I am on Jan 31st trip. As regards covering up for Holy places, if you carry a thin type of beach wrap you can always throw this over any shorts to make a skirt, or cover bare arms, and I would think that as long as your shorts are not short shorts you will proabably be ok, its just a case of wearing enough to be respecful

Hi Carole,

Like you looking forward to the 31st. Hope the good old Scottish weather does not cause any problems in my flight to Heathrow. Not looking forward to getting from one terminal to the other so fingers crossed. See you then.

Cheers

Hi,

Does anyone know if you need vaccinations for this trip? Tried asking the doctor but only got as far as the receptionist who promised to get the nurse to call me back, still waiting.

Hope not
