I went on the Canadian Rockies trip last May...is that the holiday you booked?

If so it was excellent. The scenery was 'awesome' and Banff and Jasper were really nice towns. Vancouver is unbelievable....a vibrant city with an amazing park (Stanley) a beach and the Rocky Mountains next door.

I am thinking of Canada again this year...maybe East this time.

Price wise similar to UK really. Weather wise we had great weather....only one day of rain. I wore a fleece most days with t shirt . Take a raincoat as well.

There are some early starts and it can be chilly when you are high up (on a glacier maybe !!!). Saying that in Vancouver we spent some time paddling in the sea !

If you can make sure you do the trip to Lake Louise and the helicopter is awesome !

I am jealous !

I have booked to go to Canada in May this year, the 20th May flight date. Is this the one that you are on as well? This has been a lifelong holiday destination for me and this will be my first time with Just You, but I am extremely excited about it. Glad Tim had posted re his trip last year as its given me some information that I didn't know.

Thank you for your help, yes I plan to do the helicopter ride and the glacier, would love to do all excursions but will probably not have time so will pick the best ones, will be hard to choose. Will be taking 3 memory cards I think for the camera !

I think from a different posting that your were keen to know the age range of other travellers. Well I'm 47 if you're interested.

Yes it was the one that includes San Francisco, LA and Vegas. It's well worth doing.

Hi Tim, with this tour, is there a good chance to see the wildlife, did you see any? And an opportunity to get close to the lakes to get the full view of the Rockies? I know it's a silly question but I am so excited I can't wait! Only 17 weeks to go!

Yes you have the opportunity to get close up to the lakes...many were still frozen or partly frozen . Plenty of incredible views of the views of the Rockies including Glaciers and waterfalls

In terms of wildlife we saw loads of white tailed deer,...I bumped into some on an early morning walk in Jasper outside the hotel !

We also saw beavers (and their dams) and several Brown Bears !
