After being on my own for some time, it is now time to 'get out there' and enjoy holidays again. I must admit that I find the whole 'solo traveller' thing a bit scary.... so some advice please:

What sort of age groups go on these holidays (I'm in my 50's!)

Not really into beach holidays, so suggestions for a first holiday will be well received.

Thankyou 😉

Hi There

Nothing to worry about I have done 7 tours with my 8th booked I have loved them all, I am 52 so at the younger end of the main age range 55-75 with younger and older either side. Don't let the age thing put you off everyone gets on fine, young and old. I have done 3 USA tours can be a little exhausting but very good value for money, Kenya safari + add on animals fantastic and then nice to chill out in the sun, Poland and the Tatra Mountains very nice tour, Aushwitz had to be seen for me, Austrian Lakes is a nice tour very pretty scenery, Hightlights of Tuscany nice tour not to full on.

SO settle down with a drink and have a look to see what you fancy and then BOOK IT... have fun

On the trips I've done the main age range is 50's & 60's with some younger (down to late 20's) and the oldest late 70's.

I'm 53 and have found myself socialising with both older and younger on the trips, age really does seem irrelevant to JY travellers.

Hi Rcldevon

There is really nothing to be scared about, And as someone that is of a similar age to me, I think you will be fine. I can definately recomend The Austrian Lakes, ( not a beach holiday ) where you will have some wonderful sight seeing, And the City of Salzburg is utterly amazing, And well worth visiting for mucic, culture and for historic reasons. You will of course have the pleasure of an experienced tour manager throughout your trip. I can definately confirm that this is a great trip, As i have had the pleasure of doing it twice with another booked for next year.

Happy Travelling

Andy

Valesbabe,

As you will see from many posts on here the vast majority of travellers will be in their 50's and 60's so at 36 you will be at the younger end of the group. In fact its possible you could be the youngest so be prepared for that.

I've done 4 holidays and on 3 of them the youngest as been in their late 20's and on the other trip mid 30's so there as always been someone around your age. Ladies tend to start younger than men, the youngest man I've seen is around the 40 mark.

Don't think anyone as found age a problem its amazing how everyone gets on, think thats because we are all doing a holiday we fancy and are there to have fun.

If age isn't a major issue for you I would say go book the holiday you fancy, don't think you'll be dissapointed.
