Just booked 20 day New Zealand trip in Jan 2012. Have never been with JY before or any other singles travel company, I'm jumping into the deep end. Am excited but a bit nervous as don't know what to expect. What sort of age range will it be, I would hate to be the only 50 something travelling with people younger than my kids.

Jenny, I have just returned from the November '11 trip to New Zealand and am 50, this was my first JY trip and would recommend it. If your group is anything like mine you will find that you are at the younger end of the age range - we had one in their 30s two in 40s and then the ages went upwards. It is a great trip but be ready to live out of a suitcase and early alarm calls as you will do in excess of 2000 miles by coach. The scenery and locals are brilliant and if the group you are travelling with are anything like mine you will have a great time and you will not be allowed to feel alone unless you want some time apart from the crowd. Enjoy yourself it is a memorable trip. Adrian:thumbup::thumbup:

I am doing this trip in February 2012, looking for advice about the luggage allowance, seems to be restricted to 20k for my connecting bmi flight to heathrow, plus a 55 x 40 x 23 cabin bag (doesnt state weight restriction for that). I am hopeless at packing for one week so looking for advice for this 20 day trip. And, should i take my spending money in real money or is it easy to access cashpoints/cash exchange in NZ and do you have time to do this. Any advice very gratefully received.

Kia ora,

I will be the Tour Manager for the January tour.

I'm glad you are all so looking forward to the trip - it's going to be great.

There have been some questions about luggage allowances, I posted this suggestion for the 22-day Australia tour and it applies to the NZ one too:

"Can I recommend that you don't take too much with you.

Don't attempt to take enough clothes for the 3 or 4 weeks - just take enough for 7/8 days because every hotel has laundry facilities (self-service washing and tumble drying machines) and you will have time to put the washing on and leave it to dry overnight if you don't want to use the dryers. Plus every room has an iron and ironing board, as well as a kettle. So you can leave these items at home.

Go with a lightly filled case as you'll find lots of souvenirs and gifts to pick up throughout the tour."

Happy packing, see you all next week

Thank you for that information and I look forward to meeting you next week. Is it ok to book in on line with the airline? and I am planning to borrow my Son's computer ( I Pad thingy) I assume there will be WI FI??? think thats what it is all called. Technology and me to not go hand in hand.

Hi everyone,

A question was asked about online check-in, you can try it but usually it's not possible because our flights are done as a group booking and many names will be listed, so airlines don't allow access because of data protection issues.

There will be a Just You airport rep to assist with check-in and if you don't see me at the check-in desk, I will catch up with you all in the Executive Lounge. Don't be nervous about going in there, the staff are helpful and just look out for the JY luggage tag and you'll soon pal up with someone else on the tour. And importantly you can get a cuppa (or a glass of wine or beer) and something to eat - complimentary, without having to dip into your holiday money too soon!

Ttfn, Sarah
