I am considering a holiday in either Australia or South Africa, probably over Christmas. Has anyone any experience or recommendations? I like a 'busy' holiday with plenty to see.

Hi David,

I have visited both over the Christmas/New Year, not with JY.

Australia would be my recommendation, certainly saw a lot. From cities to outback. Spent a month there and with 8 internal flights very busy, but saw so much of the country and going all that way wanted to make the most of it. I want to go back one day as still so much to see.

South Africa, visited friends they took me to all the 'tourist' places and one or two places that were not. Not somewhere I would choose to go back to, didn't leave a lasting impression on me at all.

Hello David

I would have thought both of these JY destinations would be jam packed. Have you studied the brochure?

I suggest you toss a coin and do one country this year and then the other at a future date. 🙂 I know Debbie was not impressed with South Africa but you should go with an open mind as we are all different. (I am off to South Africa + Victoria falls add on next March and Australia is on the list for the future.)

Hope this helps.

Sylvia
