I am going on the South Africa Adventure tour to Safari Plains, can anyone tell me how much cash I might need, I know all our meals are included, so I will need to buy drinks, any idea would be a help.

As a bottom line then if you are happy to use a card all of the time then you could get by with only the cash needed would be for the (discretionary) tips for the rangers and the staff at Safari Plains. (Guidance on tipping is usually givenn in the final notes you get around 3 weeks before departure)

Meals are included so you do not need to budget for this.

Otherwise costs to think about:-

1. drinks at lunch and dinner are charged to your tent - for prices think what you might pay in the UK

2. anything eg water at comfort stops to & from Safari Plains

3. souvenirs etc 

4. refreshments at J'burg airport on the way home

These can all be paid by card but personally I prefer to carry some cash especially for small incidental purchases.
