The above holiday shows Granada and Alhambra Palace as an optional excursion on day 4 but there are no further details on this within the online Optional Excursions section.

Thanks so much for getting in touch and here’s some more info on the excursion:

This is an opportunity to see what is generally accepted as the 8th Wonder of the World. Granada, the city is world famous for its “Alhambra Palace” and “Generalife Gardens”.

It’s the longest lasting Arab Kingdom in Spain, following 800 years of Arab occupation, and also the resting place of Isabel and Ferdinand.

Standing high on a hill overlooking the city, Alhambra Palace was built by the Moors in the 13th and 14th centuries and has been added to over time to become a magnificent complex of pink stone courtyards, pools, fountains, grand halls and cool patios.​ It is the best and most well preserved examples of Islamic architecture in Spain. Many of the original palaces, squares and plazas, are still there for you to admire on this tour.

The “Generalife Gardens” still remain very much as they were, when used by the Arab kings, over 1,000 years ago. We also visit Granada, where in your free time maybe you would like to stroll through the Arabian Market.

This is a full day excursion and does require strenuous walking as there are many steps at Alhambra Palace. This is a pre-bookable excursion, which must be booked at least 43 days before departure.

Such a shame that you need 43 days notice for the Alhambra optional excursion as that knocks the April trip on the head for me.

To be honest I didn't realise the 11/05 was 43 days away. Is this because you exclude Easter and May Bank Holiday dates?

I would have thought the info re Alhambra excursion should still be available on the website for those that need to factor the costs of this in for future trips where the 43 day window does still apply.
