Hi Janet,
Thanks so much for getting in touch and here’s some more info on the excursion:
This is an opportunity to see what is generally accepted as the 8th Wonder of the World. Granada, the city is world famous for its “Alhambra Palace” and “Generalife Gardens”.
It’s the longest lasting Arab Kingdom in Spain, following 800 years of Arab occupation, and also the resting place of Isabel and Ferdinand.
Standing high on a hill overlooking the city, Alhambra Palace was built by the Moors in the 13th and 14th centuries and has been added to over time to become a magnificent complex of pink stone courtyards, pools, fountains, grand halls and cool patios. It is the best and most well preserved examples of Islamic architecture in Spain. Many of the original palaces, squares and plazas, are still there for you to admire on this tour.
The “Generalife Gardens” still remain very much as they were, when used by the Arab kings, over 1,000 years ago. We also visit Granada, where in your free time maybe you would like to stroll through the Arabian Market.
This is a full day excursion and does require strenuous walking as there are many steps at Alhambra Palace. This is a pre-bookable excursion, which must be booked at least 43 days before departure.
I hope this helps and wish you a wonderful holiday.
Best wishes,
