Hi,

I was wondering if there was anybody who has been on the Arizona Ranch holiday before that can give me some advice on what to take with me?  I am booked to go this October and I have sorted out my jeans, checked shirts (a must have I think lol) and some tops etc to wear and I will be taking my own riding hat and boots but it was more the evenings I was wondering about, what do people wear?  Does it get cold in the evenings as I know in some places it can be lovely and warm in the day and then quite cool at night?  I want to make sure I take the right clothes with me but at the same time not too much.

Also any advice on how much money to take?  I know there won't be much opportunity to leave the ranch which is fine I'm there for the riding but I know they have a bar and a shop so wondered how much I should take with me and do they accept cards as I have a pre-paid holiday card with dollars already on it?

Thank you in advance for any information anybody can provide, and if there's anybody on here who is going in October please do say hi, I posted a thread in the say hello section but so far no response but I know there's about 11 of us booked on  😞 .

Thank you.

If you search for 'Arizona Ranch' you will see all the posts regarding this trip - a quick search shows the following reviews:

Don't be too put off if you get no replies to your other thread, a lot of people either don't know about the forum or don't look at it regularly.

Have a great trip.

Hi

I did this holiday in 2016 and had a fantastic time. I see Sally has put a link to my review for you to read, thanks Sally!

I found the website for the White Stallion Ranch very helpful to look at before I went as they have a recommended packing list and FAQ's. You can take your own hat and boots, some people did and some didn't. They do have hats available for you to use if you decide not to. I went in January so not sure about the weather in October , but I believe it is warmer. The evenings were a little chilly and some of the entertainment is outside so I would take a fleece. As for spending money you really don't need much at all. You settle your bill for the bar at the end of the week and I'm pretty sure I did pay with my preloaded card. The shop onsite does accept cards.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I did,

Taffy.

Thank you both for your replies, very helpful.

I have looked at their website and their Facebook page but it's always nice to hear from people's personal experiences as well.

I think I'll take a thin jacket as you mention some of the evening activity is outside.  I will take my own hat as being a rider it's always nicer to wear your own than borrow one when you're used to your own, but good to know the have spares should the worst happen and luggage is delayed which will have my hat it.

I'm already really looking forward to it, I can't wait as it's something I have wanted to do for years and so glad Just You do this as with the 'riding' companies you have to sort all the parts out yourself such as flights and transfers which is what has always put me off, it's ok to do that for Europe but not for USA.
