Hello, this is my first time to NYC and I wondered what the dress code is for eating out in the evening. I tend to live in jeans - dress up or down as necessary but don't want to get it drastically wrong! Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Pauline

I have been on many JY tours to America, and two have included NYC..

Just you tours are very busy in the day, and I can assure you it isn't dressy in the evenings, I go for comfort in the day and if there's time to change smart casual for the evening. really just go what you comfortable with, some people of course like to dress up more, as long as I am comfy that's what matters to me.

I was last in NYC in September 2014 so if you have any questions just ask.

Pauline,

The dress code in the States is casual and virtually anything goes. You may want to dress up if going to a Broadway show but otherwise Jeans will be just fine.

Hi Pauline

Unless you are going to a "posh" restaurant like Sardis or Tavern on the Green, smart casual including jeans is fine.

Hi Pauline

I'm on the same trip in May. I went with JY last July and am returning as there are things I want to do which I didn't get around to last year.

Casual is normally the way to dress unless as others have said a broadway show is on the cards or posh restaurant.

I'm staying overnight at Heathrow the night before and travelling from South Wales.

Hi Pauline

I am staying at the Premier Inn, 15 Bath Road is the postal address.

I booked it in Feb so had a deal for £49.
