:shy: HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY - with lots of happy travelling in 2018.
Spent 6 very happy days with Just You travellers in Rapallo for the New Year. We arrived at Rapallo to find that the whole town was still very much in celebratory mood, Christmas Market along the prom, shops full of tempting things to buy, various musical events and an amazing exhibition in the Castle. Christmas trees, decorations and Santa’s sleigh still there to be enjoyed. How could we fit it all in? We did and more.
When we arrived there was a very noisy Fairground opposite the hotel and we imagined very noisy nights but it was all closed down every evening by 8pm.
The trips were excellent, we enjoyed train rides to three of the delightful Cinque Terres, a boat trip to Portofina, a cable car up the local mountain and a coach trip to Genoa where the weather was warm enough for us to lunch al fresco.
Our Tour Manager, Erton, (sorry not sure about spelling) was brilliant and couldn’t be faulted in any way. He was very kind and helpful and went way beyond his job description. A true ‘pro’
The Hotel provided a delicious New Year feast and we celebrated 2018 at midnight Italian time and again an hour later as the UK entered 2018. Brilliant evening. The hotel was not a modern building so some of us had smaller rooms than others although they had paid the same, but mine was great (number 32) so no complaints from me. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were spotless. There is a roof terrace with gorgeous views.
Would recommend this holiday but be aware that BA no longer serve complimentary food to Economy passengers on short haul flights. Marks and Sparks sarnies etc are available to purchase but because it is a relatively short flight there is a possibility that the trollies don’t arrive at the passengers at the back and there is a very limited selection. Much better to buy food at the airport and take it on board.
That’s it for now - looking forward to the new book.
