Hi James,

Thanks for all the updates, I've enjoyed reading them.  Just one question - did you see much of the Fall colours?!

Hope you're already planning your next JY tour!

All the best,

Bob

I have been twice on this tour and both times the fall was following behind us.....what I saw I can't say was any better than I have seen in my own country....so you cannot bank on seeing the full colours unless your lucky..

The leaves were just starting to turn when I was there but I heard this part of Canada has had a great summer. Saw a bit more of the fall colours when we crossed the border into the USA. I will put a bunch of pictures on Flickr and post the link here.

Next JY tour? I have got plans for the next three years! Athens in May is next up though.

Hi James,

Thanks for the info (thanks also Cindy)!  I'm strongly thinking about booking the Athens tour for next Sept, so please do write a review when you get back.  I've also got plans for the next few years, fingers crossed!

All the best,

Bob

I did this tour although starting in Boston and finishing in New York at the beginning of October two years ago. We just struck lucky with fall colours which were spectacular all the way from Vernon into Canada and down into New York. Thanks for your blog, it's brought back some great memories.

James you were lucky, here on Day 2 in Toronto........absolutely lousy weather and no point going up CN tower as it is hidden in cloud. Also our city tour was brief, we were back at the hotel by 11am , no visit to brewery or chocolate shop and no stop at city hall.

Thanks James for such a detailed review.  I did New England last year with another company and we had spectacular fall colours and yes I remember Morse Maple Farm well with the pumpkins - hope Granma is still going strong.  Great pity you didn't get to the Bath store, it was worth seeing.

jthinchDay 11: Suitcase was packed and ready to go by 8 am. I left the hotel with a fellow traveller as there was enough time to walk the Freedom Trail which ended at the Bunker Hill Monument. Back to the hotel by 10:30 to check I hadn't missed anything important in the room and then back downstairs to reception to meet the rest of the group for the tour of Boston. First stop was Harvard, then onto Quincy Market for lunch, and then back on the Freedom Trail. Dropped at airport for overnight flight to the UK.

The tour manager, Linda, who only found out that she was doing this tour on the Thursday before departure, was good but sometimes I felt that she didn't make sure that everyone knew the time and place where we were meeting up.

The city tours were excellent the best being the tours of Toronto and Quebec. I felt that the tour of Boston would have been better on the first day in Boston rather than the last.

The best hotel was the Boston Plaza, although it was the most expensive, but the Commodore's Inn in Stowe was the most welcoming.

The thirty (?) fellow travellers were a great bunch and I would love to meet any one of them on a future tour.

This tour was my 12th with Just You and my first long haul holiday. For me, this is a hectic tour but the length of it was perfect. This tour was the best one that I have been on to date.

Hi James - thanks for your review - it's been really interesting to read.  I'm on the same trip, leaving tomorrow morning - very excited!

Hi James

I did this trip in 2013 and you review brought back good memories of a great trip. Pity you no longer get to visit the Laurentian Mountains and New York as part of is trip.
