Just back from Tuscany - I thought I’d get this review completed fairly quickly as I know there are a few more people going on the tour in the next few weeks and thought they may appreciate it. The whole holiday was fantastic…as a group we ‘clicked’ and I can honestly say I can’t remember when I last laughed so much.

Previous reviews are right - the hotel has some very small rooms…and I believe I had the ‘honour’ of having the smallest!! But I didn’t exactly spend too much time in there so it really didn’t bother me…more important was that it was spotlessly clean, as was the whole hotel, the shower was excellent, the bed extremely comfortable and the food was lovely. The drinks are, as has been said before, very large and also reasonably priced…I was very pleasantly surprised at how small my bar bill was…considering!!! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff…several of the group had food issues ranging from just dislikes to fairly serious medical reasons for avoiding foods…every morning the menus would come out and discussions take place to see just how best peoples needs could be met…I was really impressed by the level of care and attention.

The excursions were wonderful…hard to choose my favourite but I think potentially Pisa and Elba had the edge. We were really lucky in our Tour Manager, Jonathan…he was absolutely brilliant…I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he gets to be the manager on my Christmas trip to Vietnam (Note to Just You…pretty please!!)

The countryside was really beautiful and there was room on the coach for us all to get great window views…one note, if you are inclined to travel sickness you may want to be prepared for the drive to Siena…very twisty roads and one or two of the group were grateful for the rest stop! After the India tour where we were always with a guide, I was a little unprepared for the ‘free time’ in the cities but there were so many nice people you never needed to be alone unless you chose to be and Jonathan was always on hand with maps and helpful suggestions. I can thoroughly recommend bike hire for the Sunday – the pine forest was beautiful – first time back on a bike for a very very long time but I had so much fun I even hired a bike for the ride around the walls of Lucca.

All in all a wonderful holiday which has certainly given me a taste for exploring more of Italy.

Hi JoyElizabeth,

Thank you for posting such a great review!

I'm so pleased to hear that you have a wonderful holiday with us. I've forwarded this on to the wider Just You team so they can all have a read too.

Kindest regards,

Glad to read that you had such a good time. I agree totally with your review on the hotel. My room wasn't huge but I think I was fairly lucky. I asked for a quiet room and I got one. JY found a gem in this hotel and I SO hope they use it for many more years. They are so caring, and take note of everything.

Sounds as though your weather was a lot lot better than ours! . 😃

Yes we were really lucky weather wise…there was one tremendous thunder storm but that was at night and we had a few spots of rain on Elba but otherwise all sunshine! I agree about this being a gem of a hotel…yes it doesn’t provide the luxury accommodation and facilities of other JY hotels I’ve stayed at but it more than makes up for that – I’ve never come across friendlier or more helpful staff.

Wholeheartedly agree with Joy's review of the Tuscany tour.

As a first-timer I was slightly apprehensive as to what the JustYou experience would be like, but figured that, "Hey, even if nobody likes me and I like no one else, it's only 7 days and - it's Tuscany for goodness' sake!"

Turned out everyone was great in the party - some really, really interesting people - Jonathan was a very knowledgeable and amusing TM, the Tuscany trips (especially Elba, Lucca & San Gim) were superb and the weather was fab. A totally brilliant experience and I've already become a converted advocate for JY; so much so that I'm about to book my next trip.

Joy.. Great review and I agree with all said I did this tour a few years ago, Inthink most people end up with Jonathon as the tour manager, he is good. I to loved the hotel and the drinks measures. Perhaps we had the same room mine was like a shoe box, But it was clean and tidy. the staff owners more than made up for that.

Bosuncat.. The weather when I went was scorching, once again I had the wrong clothes with me!!

Peter.. Glad you had fun

Where to this time Peter? I have to warn you that JY holidays are seriously addictive!! Vietnam will be my fourth JY outing and I’m just waiting for the new brochure next week to choose at least 2 for next year! I’d say that we were lucky with the mix of the group but I have made new ‘forever’ friends each time…must be that JY attracts interesting people!!

Hi JoyElizabeth,

I realise your post is a couple of years old, but just want to say thanks for the tips.  I am interested in this trip, so reading the reviews for an idea of what to expect.
