Hello All,

I have returned from the Lake Garda & Verona Opera Festival Tour (departure date 18/06/2013).

This is a wonderful holiday. Our Tour Manager, Coach Driver, Hotel (Locanda Santa Giulia) and the other travelling companions, were great.

It was enjoyable and fun and I will certainly be booking this holiday again.

The hotel was very clean and the Staff were very polite and gracious.

Thank you, Just You.

Lisa,

Many thanks for your post. I'm booked on this holiday on 17th September and your post was really reassuring.

Could you please let me know there are kettles in the room or should I take my own? I really cannot function before my first cup of coffee.

Also, sorry to be a pain but are there shops within walking distance of the hotel to buy water, etc., or can these be bought at the hotel?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Denise.

I read the exact same review on tripadvisor. Wonder if they were just having a bad time altogether and vented it on the review!!!

They must have!! It doesn't look like we have anything to worry about! Have you booked the optional excursions?

Hi I always take any reviews on Trip Advisor with a huge bucketfull of salt! There are always some negative comments on every review - some people just love to be negative and find fault!

All the best,

Bob

Hi Denise,

Thanks for your post. You will have a lovely time.

Unfortunately there is not a kettle or tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. You can buy a bottle of water from the hotel for 3.00 Euros or you can buy a bigger bottle of water from a mini mart, which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel (your Tour Manager will give you directions) for about 1.50 euro to 1.80 euros.

I will be booking this holiday again later this month. I throughly enjoyed it. The trips & excursions were wonderful, as was my travelling and holiday companions, our Tour Manager & the hotel & the hotel staff.

I made some good friends and we had a lot of laughs.

Take care,

Lisa. X

Hi Bob,

I agree. If something is wrong, by all means say, but move on once it is dealt with. Just can't please all of the people all of the time.

I can only speak as I find & the hotel was lovely as were the staff & our Tour Manager & I really enjoyed the holiday (I know keep saying it, but I did).

Take care,

Lisa.

Morning Lisa.

Thanks so much for your post ~~ I will be taking my travel kettle and coffee with me. That should be "travelling" kettle, it's been all over the world with me.

I'm really, really looking forward to this trip now. I'll post on my return.

Kind regards.

Denise

Hi Lisa,

I'm thinking of booking this holiday for next year. Just wondering how far the hotel is from the lake?

Regards, Pat

Hi Pat - am not Lisa but hope I will do. I was on the same holiday as Lisa. If the same hotel is being used next year (Santa Guilia) you can walk to a small bay which is about 10 minutes away where there are two bars. You can also walk to another bay about 20 mins away and then walk along the lakeside. However it isnt really a resort - but most of the days you are off touring somewhere. I did both the optional tours so didnt have any time to visit the lake at Padenghe but other people walked there and had a drink/lunch.

Hi Pat,

Sorry I have taken awhile to reply, but I have been having some problems with my internet connection.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the first promenade. It has a little harbour with private boats and moorings and a cafe and a shop. It is totally adorable. & then about another 3 or 4 minutes walk, is a longer promenade (I did not go the second promenade) but others on my holiday did and said it was nice and has a beach. There is also mini-mart about a 5 minute walk from the hotel and you can buy bottled water and soft drinks, crisps, etc., which are cheaper than the hotel.

I have already re-booked to go back next year, for Tuesday 17th June, 2014 and the Verona Opera Festival and I am really looking forward to it.

Take care,

This is a holiday I am thinking of for this year - still choosing although a little put off by sound of hotel. Can anyone tell me though what sort of size groups usually go on both this and other European trips and what sort of age groups?
