Thanks for the feedback on your trip. This is one I'm looking at doing next year so good to hear your thoughts on it.

Hi All

I would like to add to the comments of Martin. It was a greeat short trip and we saw some lovely views, especially Vianden, Luxembourg City, the boat trip on the Moselle and the wine tasting!

The weather for most of the trip was really good except for the storm conditions on the way back. The ferry company (P&O Ferries) kept us in the dark until we were afloat. Initially we boarded on earlier ferry (great joy!) but we were soon told after departure that the crossing would possibly take 4 hours rather the one. We spent 3 hours waiting for our berth space at Dover. Further chaos at Dover as the French Channel Tunnel staff were striking so the harbour was packed with waiting lorries.

None of the is was JY's fault, Gorden the Tour Manager came around the boat looking for us all and keeping us up to date and helping some of us to re-programme mobiles to call home!

Sorry, I didn't mean to rub it in but the wine and boat ride were great. I got back home at 05:30 after stopping at Swindon, Cheltenham and changing to a mini-bus at Bristol!

I know you are better, nobody could survive 4 hours on a stormy cross channel ferry if their stomach was still churning over like a washing machine on the fast-cycle!!!! Seriously, though, how are you now?

Hello Louise

Laxembourgh was very lovely beautiful scenery and the little switzerland and vianden was excellent, and the optional excursion to trier is weath it. i think you are going to hotel in the village of vianden, we did not stay there but we did use this as a base when visting vianden so not sure what the rooms are like. but the food and stuff was lovely. the storm was quit bad but the ferry trip out there was all right, i have not been on a ferry since the early 1990s, but you will enjoy your self. i have booked the walking in the Ahr Valley next year, so i gest the ferry trip was not to bad.

Hope this helps

from martin
