JI am booked on the September tour. My last Visit to Russia was nearly 30 years ago, long before credit/debit cards and the Euro, and found we had to change money there, but the Roubles were more or less worthless to a tourist, and American dollars and Sterling were taken in the Berioska shops. So I’m wondering what to take money wise, as looking on the currency list at my bank it looks like Roubles can be obtained here now. One website suggested taking Euros? Any helpful advice appreciated, many thanks.

Hi Charleyhorse,

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/russia/money

You can pre-order Roubles (Russian currency) in the UK. However, if you are thinking about buying roubles in Russia, you should take US dollars or Euros to exchange when you're there (e.g. at banks, in hotels).

I hope this helps.

Kindest Regards,

Amy
