Good Afternoon Shellnortheast,

I have just been informed that we do not need a passport to process an ESTA for the USA. With regards to Russia, a guidance note will be sent out about 10 weeks before departure which details how you can apply for your visa for Russia.

Kindest Regards,

Amy

Hi Shellnortheast

Russian visa is a little more complicated.  You will get a tourist support letter about 10 weeks before you depart.  You need to fil in the visa form online once you have this and you can send to JY checking service which I did.  Once that is back you need to go to either London, Manchester, Edinburgh to hand in your form, passport and give your fingerprints.  So you need to factor a bit of time in for this.
