Hi Bob,

I feel as if I know you as I have read your many excellent emails over the years

My question is- Were you troubled at all by midges in the Baltics ? although I dont know what time of year you went

I am looking at booking June.

I really must get away as had a naff couple of years [ who hasnt] resulting in cancelled holidays and loseing money

The tour looks great and although seems a little expensive I notice that you are staying in top class hotels

Awaiting your reply

Yours Sue

Hi Sue,

I went in September last year and did the Travelsphere trip which is slightly different to the new JY one.  I had no problems with midges, mossies or any biting insects on the tour; however if you are going in June it might be a different story.  You will be spending a bit more time in the countryside than we did, so I'd certainly bring a repellent spray if I were you.  The weather there can be unpredictable - friends of mine were in Tallinn in June a couple of years ago and had torrential rain the whole time, whereas apart from our final day, we had lovely sunshine.  The Baltics are very interesting, with complex history and I'm sure you would enjoy the tour - you will see some terrific architecture along the way.  The hotels we stayed at were all good, as were the included meals.  And many thanks for your kind words!

Hope this helps,

Bob
