I have just received the final documents relating to my Dubai holiday on 18th October, which states that the excursion should be paid for with US. Dollars.  Is this correct?  I do not really want to take Dirhams and US dollars. The prices are shown in sterling, so can we not pay in sterling?

Our Tour Manager and agent prefer to take payment in US Dollars or local currency – Dirhams.

Please see the below from the agent in regards to advice on currency exchange. We show GBP rates in final paperwork as exchange rates can change and anyone pre booking pays us in sterling.

Exchange Sterling pounds at the Dubai Airport for USD or local currency , Dirhams ( AED ).

Bring USD when travelling.
