Re: the optional excursion to Hong Kong's Lantau Island, could you please tell me how long the ferry journey is.   Does it go out to sea, or is it within a harbour?   I'm not at all a good traveller by sea, and would like to know if it's likely to be choppy!

The duration of the excursion is approximately 9 hours. The cruise to the Lantau Island is between 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the ferry.You will not being cruising on open water so it is unlikely to be rough.

I have been to Lantau island whilst in Hong Kong on the way to New Zealand. I do not like the sea and open water,but I was fine, very interesting place to spend time, so I would say go for it..
