Hi

Have I read it correctly, that there is a 23k check in allowance plus a 23k cabin allowance?

I need to buy new summer clothes and a friend said to wait and buy everything there, as it is much cheaper, is this true and will we be near a shopping malll early on to buy some clothes.

Also if there is this large bagage allowance what would you suggest to buy to bring back?

Thanks

Hi hols,

That's correct. You can check in 23kg hold luggage and have 23kg worth of cabin allowance. Take a look at the link below. Please be wary of the baggage dimensions and note that you will have to lift the bag into the locker yourself, although, I can't imagine that you will use 23kg for your cabin baggage.

The USA is renown for the shopping and the cheaper products and there will be free time in Fort Lauderdale and Marathon where you can explore and find some shops. Personally, I have never been to Florida (yet!) so I cannot suggest anything in particular, but I would recommend having a look around to see what takes your fancy. Maybe someone on the community who has been to Florida before can give you some tips.

Kindest regards,

Monty

Hello hols

When I travel to the USA I take a large case to go in the hold, I also put in that case a large hold-all that I can fill up with goodies along the way.

I have been on the Florida tour, I went on the very first tour, you will have a great time, it has changed a little bit from when I went. This is a full on tour and when I went we did NOT go to any shopping malls so to speak, we did go to some areas which had VERY nice shops but expensive, I would also say years ago things were much cheaper in the states but not as much now. So yes I do buy things in the states but not the case full from years ago....try putting a thread up on the main posting board asking about shopping in Florida and see what others have to say.

Have a great time

I went to Florida in Nov 2015 and we had a few hours shopping at the Florida mall before we caught our flight home.

I have been on 11 singles tours, one of which was to America. My advice is that you must buy your clothes before you go. These tours are full on, often almost from the moment you step off the plane. You may get some time for clothes shopping but it is normally very limited and could be some way into your holiday. You need to be fully prepared from day one.

I do not take many clothes. I only take clothes which are easy to wash and quick drying. I normally take only 3 of each item.
