Hi Julia - I have read today that the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has introduced extra requirements for the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) beginning Nov. 3. The requirements consist of answering seven additional questions when filling out the ESTA form, such as other names or aliases, other citizenships, and US contact information.

My question is, does this have any effect on travellers who have already obtained their ESTA? Will we be ok with what we have or do we have to update or reapply?

Many thanks, Gill

Hi Gill,

I understand that any ESTAs that have already been issued are fine.

It is only new applications that will require this additional information.

Kindest regards,

Julia
