Hi Mark, all flights are currently set up for a 14:40 departure from LGW arriving into Tirana at 18:35 (although these are subject to change nearer the time).

Thanks,

Tim

Thanks from me too for this Tim. It would mean me having to overnight again at Gatwick even with that departure time probably.

What about return flights?

Hi Marks,

I'm very tempted by this holiday - the lobbying paid off! Can't decide right now between this one and the one to the Makarska Riviera. Have you done that one? I've never visited Split and I'd love to see it.

The provisional return flight back is currently 19:20 from TIA, arriving into LGW at 21:20.

Thanks,

Hi Tim,

Thanks for this info as I'm hoping to do it next Sept. Looks like I'll be fine on the way out but will have to overnight at Gatwick on the way home!

Best wishes,

Bob

Yikes. That would shove the price up appreciabily for me then with 2 overnights at Gatwick to consider. :s

Hi Rosie Mo,

I have done the Croatia Istrian Tour which has an excursion to Split. The Makarska tour is at the top of my list it is just finding the right time to do it.

I always remember the smell of fresh fish after disembarking the bus. It was a boiling hot day however it was a great day. The town was both small enough that you could have a decent look round in a day but large enough that you would want to go back. In the middle of the town theres a delightful square of cafes and restaurants which is perfect for me as i love to chillout as well as explore. Theres a lot of history, with plenty of Roman ruins to explore. I know i sound like a travel book here, but it really is the perfect blend of modernity and history.

I shall put my photos up of Split on my fbok and make them available to view for you.

Im sure Bosuncat can elaborate as she has done the tour as well. Croatia has not adopted the euro yet, so i found it to be very cheap which is a plus!

Thanks

Mark

Bosuncat,

Where are you travelling from? These times would be perfect for me because it owuld mean i could get the train the same day as the flights and not have to pay to stay overnight. I lived in Liverpool, aren't you a bit further south?

Travelling from Nottingham, Mark. I shall have to look into it further.

RosieMo I have done the Istrian Tour once with JY. Lovely holiday. I haven't done the Makarska trip with JY. I travelled there years ago when it was still Yugoslavia. Stunning coastline, Actually stayed in Makarska which was lovely and got out to the Island of Brac under our own steam.

As Mark says, the fact that Croatia has not yet adopted the Euro makes holidays there very tempting.

Likewise Mark. If I have to go down to Gatwick I usually go National Express and stay overnight as I avoid going through London if I possibly can. I would worry travelling on the same day as the flight out to be honest. Either of the dates in September would suit as I am retiring at the end of this month so don't have to worry about dates. I think Bob is looking at dates in September too.

Hi Mark and Elaine,

I'm looking at 8 Sept as the other date doesn't really suit me. Does that date suit you? Be great if we were on the same tour!

All the best,

Bob

I am still not 100 per cent about this one Bob, as I really want to do Lisbon Coast this year as I got an excellent report on it from a gentleman on the Costa de la Luz trip whom I had previously met in Croatia. It looks more or less certain now that I will be doing the special Battlefields Tour in May (Cindy has already booked). I can't afford to do that plus 2 other trips so Montenegro may lose out. :s

IF I do, do it that date in September is fine.

Hi Elaine,

The Lisbon tour looks very good too! I visited Lisbon last year - went with friends - and we saw Cintra as well. I loved the city - great atmosphere and I'd love to go back to Portugal one day. The Duoro river cruise sounds wonderful as well and hopefully I'll do it a few years down the road. Whatever you decide, I hope you have a great time!

Cheers,

Bob

Our TM in Costa de la Luz, Gina, is TM for the River Cruise sometimes Bob. She says that it's a lovely trip to do. I think I have to book early if I want to do Lisbon Coast. I missed out on it this year which is why I went to Spain. I couldn't get a sea view with a balcony so passed on it.

Hi,

I understand that this tour has been scrapped for operational tours but i was wondering if it will be making a reappearance in the 2016 brochure? Has it been completely scrapped or is it undergoing massive changes?

Thanks

Mark
