Hi Rosie Mo,
I have done the Croatia Istrian Tour which has an excursion to Split. The Makarska tour is at the top of my list it is just finding the right time to do it.
I always remember the smell of fresh fish after disembarking the bus. It was a boiling hot day however it was a great day. The town was both small enough that you could have a decent look round in a day but large enough that you would want to go back. In the middle of the town theres a delightful square of cafes and restaurants which is perfect for me as i love to chillout as well as explore. Theres a lot of history, with plenty of Roman ruins to explore. I know i sound like a travel book here, but it really is the perfect blend of modernity and history.
I shall put my photos up of Split on my fbok and make them available to view for you.
Im sure Bosuncat can elaborate as she has done the tour as well. Croatia has not adopted the euro yet, so i found it to be very cheap which is a plus!
Thanks
Mark
